Desired Candidate Profile:
The developer should have excellent design and coding skills in building distributed systems and have the technical depth to reach thru multiple layers of STB stack to expose the right capabilities.
Background in datacenters, distributed systems, multi-threaded/parallel programming, client-server product development, is a plus. Passion for quality is a must.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and rapidly assimilate new information/techniques
Required Skills:
- Proficient at C++ and/or C#, and asynchronous programming
- Participate in and influence business requirement and functional specification reviews
- Drive design reviews and code inspections in order to find defects early and ensure production quality
- Ability to influence technology and design decisions for larger scale applications for both present and future state architecture
- Develop high quality code in accordance with privacy, security, accessibility, and coding standards guidelines
- Ensure high quality code through unit testing and integration testing
- BS+ in computer science or related fields

Job Description:

  1. As the discipline leader for the Dev and Test disciplines for India, the candidate will be working with members of the IDC SLT and with engineering leaders.
  2. Need to be part of the EE International team and work with the Learning and Development team based in Redmond to develop and deliver a compelling set of performance improvement solutions to close identified gaps in the development capability of the IDC teams.
  3. Will also partner with fellow leaders of IDC HR in delivering onboarding program for college and industry hires in India.
  4. Partnering with IDC engineering leaders and HR/POC to support business direction and the strategic plans for engineering teams and offer relevant learning solutions
  5. Participate in the analysis and gap-identification for IDC engineering teams and driving both local planning and awareness and planning for IDC sites in EE Global L&D planning
Desired Candidate Profile:

  1. The candidate should be a B.E/B. Tech., ME/M.Tech/MCA or degree in related field under any recognized university
  2. The candidate should have the ability to deal with ambiguity and drive for results, with focus on customer needs.
  3. Must have a passion for improving people, processes, and tools and also Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and present technical information;
  4. Should have the ability to manage and coach ICs and managers at Microsoft; and the ability to influence management through presentations, written and interpersonal communication.
  5. Should have a broad awareness of Microsoft and industry development practices and technologies.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with the ability to represent complex technical concepts and issues to a geographically diverse audience are required.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern Internet architectures and associated routing, switching, load-balancing, and security technologies are required.
  • Multi-vendor networking hardware experience including Cisco and Juniper is required; F5 experience considered a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with mainstream routing protocols: MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS is required; knowledge and experience with IPv6, vrf, l2vpn, DWDM considered a plus as would network port, device, and bandwidth capacity monitoring & management experience.
  • The ability to analyze existing processes and procedures and suggest/influence optimization and efficiency changes.
  • Role requires deep troubleshooting skills with the ability to work with other engineers (often based in other countries) and equipment vendors to resolve complex issues 
  • Demonstrated competencies as subject matter expert to large-scale strategic initiatives, programs, projects, with customers, peers, and leadership required.
  • Must have deep experience developing and delivering technical training content/presentations to engineers and customers while representing abstract representations for business value understanding.
  • Strong project management skills (requirements gathering/finalization, project plan development, communication plan development/execution, task mapping, resource assignment, task management, risk management, progress reporting, score carding) desired but not required.
  • A logical and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work with global teams as well as individually with minimum supervision 
  • Capability to multitask, and work under pressure with changing priorities is essential to this role
  • Good working knowledge of local and wide area networking
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills as they will be working with numerous teams within the global organization.
Desired Profile:
  • BA/BS in business, IT or related field (MS or MBA desirable)
  • CCNP required, CCIE Certification and equivalent experience preferred as well as other advanced Cisco certifications
  • Excellent communication skills and team player with ability to build solid relationships with individuals at all levels, in multiple geographies and business functions, both internally and externally.
  • Must possess broad problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent judgment, decision-making skills, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure when the situation is ambiguousStrong negotiation skills and conflict management skills
